Grant for Moroccan Emerging Artists

A Fully Funded ART RESIDENCY for MOROCCAN EMERGING ARTISTS!

GREEN OLIVE ARTS is pleased to offer this residency grant for Moroccan emerging artists, in Tetouan, Morocco!

This grant was made possible by generous donors who share our commitment to promoting and facilitating the Moroccan arts movement.

Moroccan emerging artists are invited to apply for this sponsored three week art residency. Applicants must be early in their career, recent graduates, OR 4th year art students from one of the fine arts institutes of Morocco. For those who are awarded this residency grant, it will pay for ALL residency fees (except for a 200 MAD deposit which must be paid within 1 week of acceptance to secure the space). A 700 MAD materials stipend is also included with the grant.

The next open call is for our Summer Residencies (June 24-July 13   OR   July 15 – August 3, 2024) 

Applications opens on February 1, 2024 and the deadline to APPLY is February 29, 2024

After the Febuary 29 Application deadline, there will be just one more Open Call our final 2024 Residency:

The application for Fall (September 9 – 28) opens May 1, 2024 and the deadline to apply is May 29. 2024.

Moroccan artists are encouraged to apply for a season of creative production and collaboration!

Residencies include:

  • Creative community with other visiting artists from around the world
  • A high quality shared studio space for 3 weeks, with furniture & equipment
  • A weekly lunch with all the artists in residence and staff
  • Staff available on site to help facilitate your time of production
  • Access to our studio facility, with basic tools, easels, wifi, storage, and our website and social media promotion
  • 700 MAD for purchasing materials and supplies to be used during your residency (official facturas required)
  • Culminating Open Studios Night exhibition at the end of the residency
  • Transportation, Food and Housing are not included in this residency, but we are available to help arrange housing if needed.

Artists of all mediums may apply – drawing, painting, sculpture, writing, film, design, photography, etc.

To be considered, they must be born in Morocco, and complete the residency grant application (not our regular application), including a written proposal of the project they intend to work on during the residency, an artist statement, a CV and a portfolio of recent works. Our selection process also includes a brief interview (in person, by phone or by Zoom) before a final decision is made.


We are currently accepting applications for the following seasons:

  • 3 weeks WINTER 2024 – January 8 – 27 (Application deadline: October 23, 2023)
  • 3 weeks SUMMER 2024 – June 24 – July 13 (Application deadline: January 10, 2023)
  • 3 weeks FALL 2024 – September 9 – 28 (Application deadline: May 10, 2024)
