The exhibition “Familiar Tetouan” features works by Green Olive Arts artist in residence Jeff Olson.

“So much of Tetouan is new to me, but what has influenced my painting most during my recent visit, has been the familiar. The distinctive features of mountains and sea, mirroring my own experiences of living in the Western U.S., have been the primary catalyst for this series of paintings.

As always, the brushstroke is both evidence and metaphor of the land and the process. The light and color of Tetouan are present in the work, but more significantly, it is the welcoming embrace of the landscape which has shaped their character.”
