We are happy to recommend a variety of housing options to suit your unique preferences and goals.
Green Olive Arts cannot book housing for our artists in residence, but below you will find descriptions and links to the housing options which we have vetted and recommend for our artists. Almost all of these locations are within a short walk of the studios, near the center of Tetouan. All of them must pass our strict evaluation before being endorsed by us as a place for our guests to stay.
Options available: These are, of course, all subject to availability and seasonal changes, so the earlier you make arrangements, the better. We have excellent relationships with our partnering housing providers and some of them have reduced rates for our artists who book with them. You are also welcome to choose other housing not on our recommended list, if preferred.
Also be sure to let us know if you would be interested in shared accommodations, as we may be able to connect you with other artists who are also interested in sharing. Better yet, invite another artist you know to apply for a concurrent residency and share the experience as well the costs!

Private Apartment or House
We are currently updating our private apartment recommendations, since our previous options have become unavailable, but there are some great AirBnB options if you do a search for Tetouan. You’ll want to choose something that is near to the city center and Green Olive Arts, preferably walking distance, and you’re welcome to ask our opinion about the location of an option you’re considering. The Tetouan region is quite large, so you just don’t want to accidentally choose something that could take 30-60 minutes to get in to the studio on public transportation!
- There are a number of 1-4 bedroom apartment options, fully furnished
- Artists in Residence are welcome to use the laundry machine at Green Olive Arts, though some apartments may have them.
- Typical prices for an entire apartment are between $500-$1000 (€400-€800) for a three week stay.
Home-stay with Moroccan family
Book a room in the home of a Moroccan family – Stay with a family who are long-time hosts and partners with GOA, in a 100+ year old home, just outside the ancient medina, and a 3 minute walk from our studio.

Moroccan Riad Bed & Breakfast Hotel
A “riad” is a 3-4 star Bed-and-Breakfast accommodation – Blanco Riad & Riad Reducto & Riad Los Mil y Unas Noches
- Private room and bath, breakfast included, half/full-board available
- AiR rate – (single occupancy) – Blanco Riad ($350 USD per week*) & Riad Reducto ($260 USD per week*) & Dar Rehla ($240 USD per week*) for basic room [other upgraded room options available]; nightly rates available.
- Blanco Riad & Riad Reducto are 3 minutes walk from studio, right in the town center. Dar Rehla is 10 minutes walk from studio, in the ancient medina.

That is why we have personally negotiated lower rates with many of these partners and can provide discount codes for you to book with them. You might find other options on your own, and you are free to, but we cannot vouch for the quality of service you may receive.
