The next generation of Moroccan artists has essentially 3 basic needs as they embark upon careers in art after graduating from Tetouan’s National Institute of Fine Art:
- Studios – dedicated art space for production and research
- Mentorship – continued interaction with the master artists of Morocco and the world so they can learn both the art-making and business-sustaining skills essential to succeed long-term
- Market Access – the tools, opportunities and relationships for putting their art in places where the world can see and buy it
At Green Olive Arts, we believe that given a season of opportunity in these three areas, emerging artists can establish themselves in the greater arts movement and global community. That is why we offer these emerging culture-makers:
- Affordable studio spaces through both short and long term residencies, in addition to connecting them to grants and other special funding sources so that they can have the same access to professional spaces and services as more established artists.
- A place to work among a mix of visiting artists in residence from both the Moroccan and international communities
- Regular workshops and conferences that focus on various aspects of art-making, creative process, and professional development
- Interaction with visiting students and performance groups through special events and meetings
- Online portfolios, press release services, and promotional blogging to increase their visibility in the global market
