This past month we launched our campaign for the funds needed to outfit the Green Olive Arts studio with a printmaking press, gallery lighting, and a sound system and projector for our exhibition space. Words can’t express how grateful we are to everyone who has contributed so that more artists can experience Morocco and create their art here.
You can visit our campaign page on Indiegogo to see all our pictures and videos of Tetouan, Morocco and read more about what we’re doing.
Tomorrow is the last day of this campaign and we are so excited that we’ve reached 120%! That means next week we will be getting our new press, and lighting and a/v set up! Everything given beyond our goal is going toward our stretch goal to outfit the studio so we can host 2 additional artists at a time, and there are still 48 hours left to contribute to this project!
We’ve been working on creating the promised perks for all our amazing contributors and want to share a few pictures of the process for making the custom embossed leather bookmarks with a local leather smith here in Tetouan. Once the bookmarks are all finished, we’ll also be making a video to share all the steps of their creation with you.
I’ll be picking up the finished bookmarks next week so that we can send them to everyone who’s given at least $100 to invest in this project and selected to receive one! It’s not too late to get one for yourself!
Marrakech is lovely – went there last suemmr, and had a great time despite the scorching heat! We stayed at Riad Malika, check it out. It’s absolutely gorgeous! A lot of riads have deals if you stay for a few nights. We also went to the mountains and stayed at Kasbah du Toubkal for one night, expensive but so so so absolutely stunning…
